Gulls are known as bold creatures and the bane of many tourist hot-spots. This one is certainly giving us a hard stare, he may be about to fly off, but he’ll be back!
Most birds are more wary, peering out from behind rocks, or deep inside vegetation, pictures may not show much of the physical bird, but what a lot of character.
Some appear as curious about the birdwatcher. The Waved Albatross on the Galapagos with their sculptural heads are simply phenomenal and so ‘tame’ that watching them from close up is awe inspiring.
Another hard stare here from the Snowy Owl, fluffing up his feathers as a warning for getting too close.
And finally, a stare from someone you wouldn’t want to get close to, a salt-water crocodile from the north coast of Australia!
